Our History
Established in 2017, The Trauma Centre was created to provide free counselling for adult survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and childhood sexual abuse. Our service continues to offer accessible, client-centred support delivered by qualified and compassionate professional volunteers, with a strong commitment to safe and ethical practice at all times.

Is your service free?
Yes, we are a completely free service for victims of domestic violence, sexual violence,
and survivors of child sexual abuse.
What help do you offer?
We are professional counsellors and psychotherapists offering a person-centred approach.
We can also support other needs during your counselling journey.
Can you provide a clinical diagnosis?
No, we are unable to provide clinical diagnoses.
What type of sessions do you offer?
We usually find face-to-face weekly sessions most effective.
However, we offer flexibility where needed, including video calls and telephone sessions.
How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions last one hour and are usually weekly on the same day and time.
Do you have an interpreter?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide interpreters due to cost.
If required, you will need to arrange one via your referral organisation or independently.
Do you offer a support group?
We do not currently run a support group.
Can I return to therapy once my sessions have ended?
Yes, you can return for further support.
This usually involves being placed back on the waiting list.
